Get David Hasselhoff to No1

Well, I am back! Haven't posted since...May 27th? God, that's a long time! Lets get to the point...

We all know that David Hasselhoff (yes, the one from Knight Rider and Baywatch) is a God! His acting was superb (cough...cough...) and ladies loved him. He is listed in the Guinness Book of World Records as "The Most Watched TV Star in the World" and has a huge fanbase that worship him.

For example, there is a DHCA fan club. That is: David Hasselhoff Club Of America Fan Club! You can see their extreme love for him by this dedication.
Also the knight-foundation exists. As they say in their site: "No other man has done so much for big chest hair and smooth chatup lines. David Hasselhoff is a god. Not only a magnificent actor/singer, but an incredible maker of television & film. Every woman desires him. Every man aspires to his hairy manliness." They have even composed an ode to him! He also has a real football team dedicated to him, the Tottenham Hoffspurs FC! The site http://agodamongmen.com/ claims that, guess what, he is a god among men.

In the contrary, others claim that Mr Hasselhoff is the antichrist!

What many people don't know, is that David has a music career too. He took off in the late 1980s when he recorded the album, Looking for Freedom, at the end of the Cold War. The song became an anthem for the German people and remained at the top of their charts for eight weeks. The album went triple platinum in Europe, and Hasselhoff was named "Most Popular and Best Selling Artist of the Year" in Germany. He sang "Looking for Freedom" from atop the Berlin Wall during the German reunification celebration (videoclip of the song here, video on top of the Wall here. By the way, what a great leather jacket!).

His most recent album, "David Hasselhoff Sings America", was released in Germany, Austria and Switzerland at 2004 and managed to get at #11 in the Austrian charts! He has released six other albums in Europe which have all gone platinum and gold. It can be safely said that only German-speaking people liked his music (no pun intended here!).
To change this situation, a group of fans have created an online campaign called "Get Hasselhoff to Number 1" to help David achieve the no1 spot of the UK music charts. As it is explained at the campaign's site, all you have to do is to give them your email addressss to sign up, and when they hit the 75.000 people mark, they will send The Hoff Alert to everyone. That's an email alerting people that it's time to buy a Hoff single (probably the "Looking for Freedom" single) on Apple's online music store, iTunes. Even if half of the people pay 79p (=1.2euros) and buy the single, David will be at the top10!
You may ask yourself: "Why should I pay for him to be No1?" The fans have the answer! You get to become part of the world music history. Plus help someone who has given a lot to the world: Knight Rider, Baywatch, the reunification of East and West Germany, untold laughter from forwarded e-mails of him in hotpants. The organisers of the campaign say: "It's time we gave something back. The Hoff's having a hard time. He's split from his wife. He needs a lift."
I signed up, using my spam friendly mail! Do the same, and if you love the Hoff, buy the single! If you think you can't afford it or that it's just another stupid online fad, just watch the videos below and laugh. This laughter deserves your 79p!

Georgoulis videogame lookalike!

In the Blue corner we have:

The Unanmed Character (duh!) from Naughty Dog's yet untitled Playstation 3 project

and at the Red corner:

Alexis Georgoulis, a famous (in Greece!) actor

When I saw the video for the game I couldn't stop laughing. But is it just a coincidence? Or is there a Georgoulis-fan character modeller working at Naughty Dog?

What do you believe?

Oh crap! Just a coincidence for me!

You can find other videogame lookalikes at this excellent site of J.R. Antrim. You will not find this one though!

More information, pictures and videos from the game at IGN's site.

More info on Alexis Georgoulis at his official website (in Greek only!)

A. Georgoulis photos were taken from here,

The game image was cropped with http://www.resize2mail.com/, a great service that I found by Googling.

Da Vinci Code parodies

Yes I admit it. I am one of the "few" people that saw the Da Vici Code movie. The film was not as bad as most critics said it was, and....Hell no, I am not here to review it!

So, behold the link to iCryptex, a very funny single-paged site by Darren Barefoot. It is about how product-loyal are Apple product owners, but with a Da Vinci code humor twist.

Also, see the video below for the trailer of "The Norman Rockwell Code Trailer" (56k be patient or quit!), an interesting looking film parody of the Da Vinci Code by Thomas Catalfo. Guess where it was filmed...come on...it's not difficult...Yes, in the Norman Rockwell Museum in Boston. You can find more about this film at its official site.

By the way, check out Norman Rockwell's art at the museum's website. He is pretty good!

Red Hot Chili Peppers ripoff!

According to a radio show, it seems that Red Hot Chili Peppers plagiarized a 1993 song by Tom Petty, "Mary Jane's last dance", and used part of it at "Dani California", a song from their last album "Stadium Arcadium".

Well, I believe they truly sound alike. Suspiciously alike. Listen for yourself and give me your honest opinion. No Peppers fanboys allowed at this post!

EDIT: A friend of mine told me that peppers can't be "chillY", so I corrected it!
EDIT 2: Another friend of mine told me that peppers can't be chilIi, so I corrected it again!

My decision to blog in English from now on!

After numerous requests from millions of fans (you should always listen to them folks!), I decided to blog in English and only in English. This is only my first step to reach a more international audience. The reason is:

Lots of visits + advertisements = $$$

Well, sort of...

Just leave me a comment if you approve my decision or not. Not that I will change my mind afterwards...

PS: I could blog in Greek also, but only for matters that foreigners wouldn't care less for.

Με διαφορά το χειρότερο videoclip όλων των εποχών!

Δεν υπερβάλλω! Δεν τα παραλέω! Ναι, είναι το χειρότερο! Ο "καλλιτέχνης" είναι "Dancing butterflies", και το κομμάτι λέγεται "Let's save the environment"!
